(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Managed hosting provider Layered Technologies (www.layeredtech.com) announced on Thursday it is adding bandwidth at its data center in Kansas City, while also increasing connectivity between the Kansas City, Dallas and Chicago facilities.
Layered Tech acquired GSI Hosting last November, along with the 77,000-square-foot data center in Kansas City.
By adding redundant, 10G transit circuits to its Kansas City data center, which is designed to meet the highest security standards and support compliant hosting, Layered Tech says it is “further strengthening the top-flight facility to stay ahead of growing customer demands by expanding its enterprise-class capabilities.”
Fiber-based communications services firm Level 3 Communications is delivering the Internet and transport connectivity to the Kansas City data center.
“Our ongoing facility and network investments give our outstanding data center and technology teams even more tools with which to create significant value for customers,” says Layered Tech CEO Jack Finlayson. “In particular, our growing base of enterprise customers are attracted to our geographic reach, and that value proposition is now even stronger due to the increased connectivity between our wholly owned Kansas City data center and our facilities in Dallas and Chicago.”
Layered Tech is also adding redundant, 10G circuits between its Dallas, Chicago and Kansas City data centers.
The additional bandwidth supports customers’ increased need to securely share data between each location and broadens their options for disaster recovery and business continuity services.
The Kansas City data center supports the operational protocols needed to meet industry standards, including PCI DSS, HIPAA and SAS 70.
The facility features power management, precision HVAC, fire suppression and physical security capabilities.
In addition to the Kansas City, Dallas and Chicago facilities, Layered Tech has data center locations around the world, including Santa Clara, Tokyo, London and Amsterdam.
