An overhead view of the data center in New Jersey
(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Web hosting provider KnownHost announced on Monday that it has expanded its VPS offerings to include a New Jersey-based data center. KnownHost now has three data centers, including facilities in Texas and California, respectively. New Jersey is the third data center to be brought online in six years, according to the press release.
Two months ago KnownHost announced that it now monitors 201 physical servers.
“Our growth is allowing us to rapidly invest in more managed virtual private server offerings,” Justin Sauers, CEO at KnownHost said in a statement. “Adding our third data center allows our customers to have more flexibility and reinforces our commitment to providing the best products and the most reliable support in the industry.”
KnownHost selected a leading data center provider in Piscataway, New Jersey, that has resources for support within the surrounding New York City metro area via six transit providers. Opened in June 2011, the Net2EZ data center features 176,200 square feet of raised floor space.
According to KnownHost its uptime is 99.967 percent, and it has been ranked as a top managed VPS host in the HyperSpin rankings over the past four years.
HyperSpin is a website monitoring service that also ranks web hosts and ISPs. Unlike Netcraft, HyperSpin monitors user websites or servers hosted by the companies rather than the web hosts homepage.
