Web Host KickAssVPS Launches ColdFusion 9 VPS Hosting

(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — VPS hosting provider KickAssVPS (www.kickassvps.com) announced last week that it had introduced a new virtual private server product with support for the ColdFusion 9 application development platform from Adobe.

Version 9 of ColdFusion was launched in October of this year, featuring a variety of enhancements, including better integration with the Flash platform, interoperability with Microsoft Office and a simplified integration with enterprise environments to better facilitate application building.

The product launch was accompanied by the announcement of several new hosting platforms, mostly by hosting providers known for specializing in supporting the ColdFusion platform. ColdFusion is one of those development environments with an accompanying community that is an appealing market for hosting providers with the capacity to provide specialized service for developers.

KickAssVPS says it has historically been attuned to the ColdFusion development community, offering pre-configured Windows VPS hosting services with ColdFusion 7 and 8. The company says it will offer ColdFusion 9 as an optional add-on to all its Windows-based virtual private servers.

“As a leader in ColdFusion virtual private servers, a significant portion of our customer bases utilizes ColdFusion technology to build rich Web applications and deliver enterprise-ready software solutions. Our customers have been anxious for ColdFusion 9, and we made it a priority to make this available as soon as possible,” said KickAssVPS.com Brian Emerson, president and CTO, quoted in the press release.

KickAssVPS says Windows VPS instances equipped with ColdFusion 9 start at $70 per month for 10 GB of disk space and 100 GB of monthly data transfer. A detailed description of the breadth of offerings from the company is available on the plans page of its website.
