Web Host Intermedia Holds Partner Summit

Intermedia's first Partner Summit in New York.

(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Web hosting provider Intermedia (www.intermedia.net) recently announced via its blog it hosted its first Partner Summit in New York earlier this month.

The year has already brought along a handful of partner summit events from web hosting providers, including Verio’s viaVerio partner summit last week, as well as Parallels Summit 2009 in February.

Another web hosting provider, Superb Internet, also recently announced it will be holding its first annual Superb Summit in Honolulu, Hawaii, sometime in the second half of 2009.

But whereas Superb Internet’s summit is designed to be a customer education and appreciation event, Intermedia’s Partner Summit was more focused on the company’s reseller partners, which makes up the core of its business. Intermedia currently has 3,000 private label partners.

IT specialists, owners of local MSP and ISPs and executives gathered at the Intermedia Partner Summit, held March 5th and 6th, to exchange ideas relating to industry, marketing and technical trends.

The company writes in its blog that despite the recession, its reseller “partners’ opportunities and individual growth rates are exploding, and therefore Intermedia is investing heavily in [its] partners’ success.”

Intermedia goes on to support this claim by stating that in 2008 alone, the company saw over 100 percent growth in hosted Exchange and related collaboration services to become the “world’s largest provider of Hosted Exchange.”

The web hosting provider called the summit a “resounding success”, with many of its top partners, as well as much of Intermedia’s executive, business development, sales, product management and operations staff, in attendance.

The company says it received feedback that will help shape its product roadmap, marketing strategies and other aspects of its offerings.
