(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) – Web hosting provider Hostway (www.hostway.com) announced on Thursday that its FlexCloud servers now provide support for Microsoft WebMatrix, the new Web development suite for simple website development using open source applications.
Hostway launched its FlexCloud servers in November 2010.
The Web-based management console lets users create and self-manage multiple clouds.
According to the press release, FlexCloud servers come with the WebMatrix server image in its image library. Hostway says users configure a new server instance using this image and enter the connection information into WebMatrix to upload.
“The new WebMatrix image illustrates the power and flexibility of the FlexCloud platform,” Todd Benjamin, vice president of enterprise hosting for Hostway said in a statement. “Users can create server instances from their own or our pre-published library of images, significantly reducing the time, effort, and cost to launch fully-functional applications in the cloud.”
Microsoft launched its free Web development tool last week, and since several Web hosting providers have announced support of WebMatrix, including Codero earlier this week and UK Web host Titan Internet on Thursday.
