(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Cloud hosting provider Hostway Corporation announced on Wednesday that it has launched an expanded selection of data and network security solutions for customers through a new partnership with StillSecure.
This announcement comes a month after Hostway announced that web design and cloud services firm Cognent will offer its customers Hostway’s suite of cloud and managed hosting solutions.
According to the press release, Hostway has added eight new security packages, including multi-tenant options and solutions designed to support PCI compliance initiatives as well as intrusion detection, file integrity monitoring and web application firewall.
Hostway says the introductory package provides an advanced network firewall, SSL VPN remote access, patch management and vulnerability scanning using a multi-tenant deployment model so multiple customers can be hosted on a single appliance platform with customer data physically separated to ensure confidentiality and security.
Hostway says that pricing is based on the number of hosts protected and that this model will bring security to those with tight budgets.
“Security is at the forefront of nearly every infrastructure discussion we have with clients and prospects. Prior to this release, most of those conversations diverged on security ‘needs’ and security budgets,” Aaron Hollobaugh, vice president of marketing at Hostway said in a statement. “Hostway can now offer flexible, cost-effective managed security services that are market driven and instantly fill a security gap within the managed hosting marketplace.”
According to the press release, next year Hostway will extend its partnership with StillSecure to provide cloud security solutions for private and public cloud hosting. The managed solutions will provide security for physical, virtual and multi-tenant environments and help Hostway customers comply with regulations around audit and logging controls.
“Hostway requires a proven partner to deliver best-in-class managed security solutions for each of their critical segments – colo, dedicated, and cloud,” Rajat Bhargava, president and CEO of StillSecure said in a statement. “Our managed network security solutions are a perfect fit for Hostway because they are already auditor-approved and monitored continuously by our team of security experts. Such an enhanced security level will help Hostway address escalating concerns around network security much more effectively, as well as provide a solution set to customers that is comprehensive and cost effective.”
Hostway says its new managed security services start at $39 per month.
