(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Web hosting provider Hostway (www.hostway.com) announced on Monday it has launched Registry Services Corporation (www.rsc.pro), the retail version of its domain registry back-end service.
The product and flagship website, RSC.PRO, was officially launched on June 17, just days before the 41st ICANN International Meeting in Singapore.
At the meeting, ICANN officially announced it will be accepting new gTLD applications starting January 12, 2012.
Registry Services Corporation now offers TLD operators the same systems and infrastructure the company has used to manage the .PRO TLD since 2004.
In addition, RSC provides 24-hour live technical support, EPP-compliant servers, DNSSEC, IDN capability and IPv6.
“RegistryPro maintains one of the most stable environments in the industry,” said Karim Jiwani, CEO of RSC and RegistryPro. “Leading technologies deployed throughout our global data centers have made our back-end one of the most reliable in the industry. With the launch of RSC, current and new TLD operators will benefit from this remarkably robust platform.”
RSC provides 24-hour network monitoring and biometric / electronic access control, as well as multiple redundancies, global nodes and nearly 100 percent uptime for WHOIS and EPP.
Hostway is the parent company of RegistryPro, which operates the .PRO the top-level domain for professionals.
The company provides dedicated hosting, shared hosting, colocation, domain name registration, ecommerce solutions and other Web-based services to over 1.4 million websites and 600,000 customers worldwide, according to its website.
“The potential that thousands of new TLDs will enter the domain name system in the next few years marks a historic moment in the history of the Internet,” said Lucas Roh, CEO of Hostway. “RSC will be there with the advanced solutions registry operators needed to manage their space in this new domain name landscape.”
