February 14, 2005 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Web hosting wholesaler Hostopia (hostopia.com) announced on Monday that it has introduced new applications and upgrades for its wholesale Web hosting and managed email services, to be launched throughout the first quarter of 2005.

Hostopia said the disk space allotments in its hosting plans have been upgraded by 500 percent, while email storage has doubled. New applications include 1,000 Web site templates and EasyLiveChat, a turnkey business chat application. Reduced prices are being offered for ASP.net.

Franc Nemanic, president of Hostopia, said the enhancements will make service providers in the SMB sector far more competitive.

“Web hosting has recently experienced severe commoditization in the marketplace as disk space and bandwidth is literally given away by most providers,” says Nemanic. “Hostopia’s strategy is to equip our partners with adequate disk space but also to bundle value added services such as ASP, chat and site templates to maintain revenue, margins and customer satisfaction.”
