(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — As part of recent network upgrades, Web hosting company HostICan (www.hostican.com) is adding a $470,000 Cisco (www.cisco.com) firewall solution that, once operational, will allow virtualized firewalls to be placed anywhere within the network, and integrate with other security services already present within the network.
“The need for top level security is crucial, not only for the company but for our customers,” HostICan president and chief executive officer Denis Motova said in a statement.
According to Hostican’s recent announcement, the Cisco firewall, with the use of virtualization technology, can be brought into any network segment, making network security more scalable, cost effective, and easily managed. This added security measure is part of HostICan’s overall security initiative to ensure the utmost in protection both for websites and for all e-commerce transactions.
“The engineering behind this solution was quite complex, however, we knew that we wanted to build something that would not only protect our customers, but also allow them to access the necessary resources at all times,” said the company, in the press release.
HostICan’s firewall solution is capable of 40GB/sec Internet traffic processing in an active-active state, and is fully redundant for further security.
Earlier this month, CoreXchange unveilled a line of managed firewall solutions based on Cisco and Juniper equipment to provide affordable security solutions for small and medium-sized businesses.
