(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Web host HostICan (www.hostican.com) is now able to provide 20 gigabits per second of transport capacity in the Richmond, Virginia, area, making it not only one of the most powerful and connected facilities in the area, but also one of the fastest.
“This is far above the norm for bandwidth in the Richmond metro area,” HostICan president and chief executive officer Denis Motova said in a statement.
According to HostICan’s announcement this week, HostICan has a $1-million network upgrade currently underway, which will increase transport capacity and smooth the transition to IPv6, and eventually hopes to provide 40 gigabits per second later this year.
HostICan’s colocation space is adaptable to any size of enterprise, and it offers a comprehensive array of managed services. In addition to the new bandwidth availability, HostICan has been able to significantly lower the cost of bandwidth within the Richmond area, which until recently was an un-penetrated market. “We are very grateful for the continued support of the Richmond community! We’ve been able to provide low cost bandwidth to our colocation customers that have enjoyed a 90-percent reduction in bandwidth pricing,” Motova said.
Businesses in Richmond will be able to use HostICan’s facilities to host their infrastructure. And the added transport capacity will give them the transport speed they need to keep their businesses competitive, Motova said. “We started in Richmond and are very loyal to our community. We just want to have the opportunity to give back to the city that supported us so much from the very beginning!”
Earlier this year, HostICan completed its transition to a new administrative and operations facility located just outside Richmond. The new center was designed with automation in mind to improve customer service, allowing more control over all facets of customer hosting experience, including improvements to its US-based, in-house call center that is available around-the-clock.
