(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) – Web hosting provider Hetzner Online AG (www.hetzner.de) announced last week its plans to open a new 430,000 square foot data center park in Nuremberg, Germany.

According to the press release, the first two units of the facility will house up to 30,000 servers that will be available by the end of the year.

Hetzner Online says its expansion in Nuremberg is due to the site having the potential capacity for over 100,000 servers to meet future demand.

“Nuremberg is an important internet traffic hub in Germany, connecting internet users around the globe. We are looking forward to introducing our Nuremberg site to our international client base,” Christian Fitz, marketing manager for Hetzner Online said in a statement.

The site has fiber-optic connections for fast data exchange and its substation proximity enables a readily available supply of power.

Hetzner Online says its Nuremberg project will be built according to “the highest standards” including high-performance direct free cooling, surveillance and security equipment as well as backup generators for uninterrupted power supply.
