(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Web host and domain name registrar Gossimer (www.gossimer.com) has revved up its server security with a new seven-layer model to ensure its hosting accounts are safer and more reliable.
Gossimer announced last week it had implemented security protocols at seven different levels – data center, network, host, software, application, personal and audit processes. The seven-layer security model is laid out in detail on the security page of the company’s website.
Designed for server fortification, the new security system has taken “human elements and follies in consideration,” according to the company.
“Hacking, cracking, viruses, spams, trojans, and even denial of service attacks are increasingly becoming threat to a survival of a website, and everyday news of some websites being hacked or being infested with malwares keep on coming from all quarters. And we all know what such news means for a website owner,” chief executive officer of Gossimer Marvin Dreyer said in a statement. “We do not want Gossimer’s customers to suffer such fate. We have therefore installed a 7-layer security system to provide a holistic security to our customers and resellers’ websites. By implementing this security measure only we can hope to make our hosting safe, secure, stable, and swift.”
In addition to its new layered security solution, data protection and disaster recovery plans are available to protect from any security incident, with the option to customize a policy to suit individual hosts needs. The RAID technology live backup option is also purchasable for customers looking to further security measures through daily and weekly server backups.
Gossimer says these measures will prevent unwanted activity on any server.
