Web Host Go Daddy Offers Free Blogs

December 20, 2005 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Web hosting provider and domain registrar Go Daddy (godaddy.com) announced on Tuesday that it would add blogging capabilities free with every domain registration, transfer or renewal.

“I started my blog, bobparsons.com, last year to communicate to the world about our Super Bowl commercial,” says Bob Parsons, founder and president of Go Daddy. “Readers asked about the application I used, so we decided to offer it to every single customer who registers, renews or transfers a domain.”

Quick Blog, which is ad-supported, features customizable templates, image and audio upload, RSS, mailing list notification, surveys and site statistics. Go Daddy says there will not be any intrusive pop-up ads.

Parsons says that with blogging’s growing popularity, the company introduced Quick Blog to give customers a way to try blogging themselves without spending a lot of money.
