Go Daddy's expansion into Asia has included new hosting space in Singapore, as well as the hiring of new Go Daddy representative Ella Koon to further promote the Go Daddy brand in Asia.
(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Web hosting and domain name provider Go Daddy (www.godaddy.com) is expanding its global reach with a Singapore data center, enabling faster services for Web hosting and email customers in Asia.
According to Go Daddy president and chief operating officer Warren Adelman’s Friday announcement at the Parallels APAC Summit in Singapore, the facility accommodates Go Daddy’s rapidly expanding customer base in Asian markets such as Japan, South Korea and Taiwan, which, together, account for 42 percent of the Internet population (based on the latest figues from InternetWorldStats.com).
Go Daddy has been a long provider of domain name extensions such as .JP, .TW and .ASIA.
Now, websites hosted at Go Daddy’s new Singapore data center will provide local visitors faster website load times because of the shorter distance the data has to travel.
“People everywhere are looking for quality products at affordable prices,” Go Daddy founder and chief executive officer Bob Parsons said in a statement. “Go Daddy has always been committed to providing the best possible products and services to all our customers. Having data centers strategically located in our growth areas just makes sense.”
Earlier this week, the company announced it was “dedicating a Go Daddy Girl to Asia,” according to the press release. Hong Kong-based Cantopop singer, actress and model Ella Koon, according to the announcement, is “popular throughout the Far East and excited to promote the Go Daddy brand further in Asia.”
The expansion in the APAC is Go Daddy’s latest in its global expansion, which has involved various international initiatives as well as those locally in the US.
To meet the demands of an influx of European customers, Go Daddy added data center space in The Netherlands last year. The company also opened a new office in Hiawatha, Iowa, in July, providing additional stateside customer care representative jobs, in keeping with customer growth.
