Web host and domain registrar Gandi announced on Tuesday that it has launched version 4 of its website, including refreshed interfaces and a new feature that allows users to customize their management interface.
According to a blog post on Wednesday, Gandi says its feature that allows users to choose their display on the interface will help create an optimal display for its many different users.
This update comes after Gandi won a contract from reddit to provider domain management services.
In a video demoing the new Gandi v4 table customization tool, Gandi shows how users can one-click delete, and one-click add new fields to the table, with the option to reverting back to the original layout.
Giving customers tools that help them streamline their experience in managing their website can help minimize support requests to web hosts, and empower users to get the most out of web hosting features.
Gandi made the screen space for the application bigger, as well as added a question mark tab to display context-sensitive help, and direct users to the FAQ page.
“Our goal was not to radically change the interface. Most of you like the Gandi website, and we don’t want you to have to learn how everything works all over again,” Gandi says in the blog post. “All the same knobs and buttons are there, in the same places. It’s as if we did the wallpaper, floor and ceiling tiles, but left the doors and light switches in the same places. You can still find your way around in the dark.”
