(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Web hosting provider Fusepoint Managed Services (www.fusepoint.com) announced on Tuesday it has signed an agreement with health and wellness company MYTRAK Health System (www.mytrakhealth.com) to provide and implement a fully managed hosting environment for the health application MYTRAK Success Coach.
Fusepoint will run VMware ESX virtualization software as the foundation of its on-demand application service.
MYTRAK Health System offers solutions that encourage a healthy lifestyle through its coaching and feedback systems, helping people to exercise and stay healthy in their day to day life.
The company’s Success Coach solution is installed on health club exercise machines and ensures that those users with a RFID key are able to monitor their exercise program and progress on each machine.
At the end of each workout, the user uploads their current workout data from the RFID key tag to a central kiosk at the club, which is then processed by the Success Coach application to update the user’s profile and individual goals.
MYTRAK is installed in over 4,000 health clubs worldwide and has over one million users.
The significant demand led the company to seek an established, highly-available web host for its Success Coach application.
Additionally, MYTRAK’s largest client and fitness center Curves, needed a technology environment that would deliver on availability and security requirements.
MYTRAK eventually decided on Fusepoint for its ability to administer the complete end-to-end management requirements of its mission-critical IT environment, VMware expertise and VMware Certified Professionals.
The heath and wellness company also evaluated many different virtualization platforms until finally selecting VMware for its advanced capabilities and Fusepoint’s certified understanding of the technology platform.
The user data is uploaded from each fitness club’s central kiosk nightly to a pool of servers at a Fusepoint data center. The updated data can then be accessed at the user’s next workout.
