(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Web host FiberCloud (www.fibercloud.com) announced on Thursday that it has added cloud servers using Windows Server 2008 R2 Hyper-V to its product line.
This announcement comes two weeks after FiberCloud launched Cloud City Hosting, a new website for small businesses to access cloud computing services easily.
According to the press release, Hyper-V integrates into FiberCloud’s existing infrastructure and managed colocation platform. Since Hyper-V was deployed with Microsoft’s Dynamic Data Center Toolkit for hosting service providers, it provides simple integration with other Microsoft applications.
“We’re excited by FiberCloud’s move to launch cloud services on top of their strong foundation of multiple data centers,” Hyder Ali, hosting industry director for Microsoft Communications sector said in a statement. “Microsoft supports partners looking to take advantage of new business opportunities to deliver high-value services to end customers.”
FiberCloud features Microsoft Exchange and Sharepoint on its cloud hosted platform.
“By launching our cloud servers using Hyper-V, we were able to gain a flexible product with a fast time to market,” Susan DeFlorio, chief operating officer of FiberCloud said in a statement. “This will help our customers across the board with scalable, cost efficient server space without initial capital.”
Early April, FiberCloud launched new online backup software to enhance its disaster recovery and data protection solutions.
