(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — In a recent revision of its hosting plans, UK web hosting provider Evohosting (www.evohosting.co.uk) is now offering its “Business Plan” to registered charities and non-profits for a third of its regular price.
According to Evohosting’s Friday announcement, the Business Plan includes 4.5GB disk space, unlimited bandwidth, a free domain, unlimited email accounts, and unlimited MySQL databases, and is available to non-profit and charitable organisations for only £2.50 + VAT (about $3.70 ) per month, which is the same cost of its “Starter” hosting plan.
“The web hosting industry standard is to offer a 50 percent discount to charities and non-profit organizations, but I feel like that just isn’t enough given the current state of the economy,” Evohosting Managing Director Tim Mole said in a statement. “I decided to offer a discount of 66 percent so that charities and non-profits can spend less money on web hosting and more money on their staff and services.”
Charities all over the UK are facing difficult budget choices due to the state of the economy. Evohosting hopes to meet their needs for less money, giving them a web presence that keeps staff members connected, informs the community about available services, and helps raise public awareness about organisations and causes.
“Evohosting’s goal is to become the web hosting provider of choice for charitable organisations in the UK,” Mole said. “Now, more than ever, it’s important for businesses to offer discounts to non-profits so that indispensable charities don’t become casualties of the recession.”
A year ago, UK managed service provider eLINIA (www.elinia.com) launched an offer to provide free, carbon-neutral web hosting services to charities in the UK.
