December 18, 2006 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Web hosting provider Easy CGI (easycgi.com) announced on Monday that it has implemented a cluster of Barracuda Spam Firewall servers to protect its customers from spam and viruses.
The company says the Spam Firewall is an integrated hardware and software solution that will protect the email provided with each of its shared Web hosting plans. The Barracuda product proves protection against current threats through a proprietary 10-layer defense system.
“Our network processes more than three million email messages during a typical business day, with about 90 percent of those messages being spam. We found that our in-house spam prevention solutions were coming up short, and we consider ourselves fortunate that the Barracuda Spam Firewall fit our requirements so well.” says Dan Richfield, president and CEO of Easy CGI. “We performed extensive testing on a number of software and hardware solutions and quickly realized that Barracuda Networks offered the most effective spam and virus protection. By preventing over 95 percent of spam and viruses from reaching our customers’ email boxes, the quality of life for every one of our customers is vastly improved.”
Easy CGI has been providing shared Web hosting since 1994. The company says it focuses on superior technology, cost effective solutions and exceptional service.
