LaCour joins DreamHost from Pictage
(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Web hosting provider DreamHost (www.dreamhost.com) announced on Monday that it has appointed Jonathan LaCour to VP of software development.
Prior to DreamHost, LaCour served as vice president of software products at Pictage (www.pictage.com) where he guided the creation of several cornerstone products, according to the press release. Pictage is a web platform for professional photographers that manages their workflow and helps them promote and sell photos.
In 2007, LaCour was chief technology officer at ShootQ, a web-based management application for photography studios that he founded, which was later acquired by Pictage in 2010.
A few months ago, Dreamhost named its first ever CEO, Simon Anderson. Prior to Dreamhost, Anderson was chief marketing officer of Pictage.
“I’ve spent quite a while working alongside Jonathan during my time at Pictage and I know for a fact that he is, as you say in America, ‘The Real Deal,’” DreamHost CEO Simon Anderson said in a statement. “Jonathan’s vast technical knowledge combined with his unparalleled management skills together form an unbeatable combination. The man is a machine. In fact he is so committed to his art that I’ve never seen him eat or sleep. I suspect he has little need for either.”
Prior to founding ShootQ, LaCour held development and analyst roles at software development firms Optio Software and VeriSoft.
“I am a creative software visionary. It certainly makes sense that DreamHost would seek out my peerless talents. Frankly, I’m surprised it’s taken them this long,” LaCour said in a statement.
