Datapipe transitioned Open Dealer Exchange to a cloud infrastructure
(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Web hosting provider Datapipe (www.datapipe.com) announced last week that it will develop a custom cloud infrastructure for auto financing provider Open Dealer Exchange (www.opendealerexchange.com).
According to the press release, the infrastructure will be built on Datapipe’s Stratosphere platform.
On Thursday, Datapipe announced that it completed SSAE 16 audits for its data centers in San Jose and New Jersey.
Open Dealer Exchange says the improvements and network growth will emphasize its position at “the forefront of cloud-technology adoption within the industry.”
“As ‘cloud computing’ has grown as a buzz phrase within the industry, a lot of companies are claiming that they embrace the technology. But often times what they are offering are not genuine cloud-based solutions,” Abdullah Haydar, chief technology officer of Open Dealer Exchange said in a statement. “As a company that was founded on innovation, we are truly utilizing cloud computing to the benefit of our clients.”
Open Dealer Exchange integrates a finance source directly within a dealership’s main computer network, according to the press release.
Datapipe says it transitioned Open Dealer Exchange to a new network that supports on-demand scale and disaster recovery.
Open Dealer Exchange says its move to the cloud will increase efficiency for its end-users, as well as its internal operations.
“Historically, offering a service like this would require the development of custom code and infrastructure for unique integration points on a per-client basis,” Haydar added. “But with our suite of cloud-based services, we’re able to take almost any existing computer service they may be using and tie it into our XML-based, STAR-compliant systems. This saves our clients money with a significantly lower initial capital investment and gets their product to market sooner.”
