(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Web hosting and web marketing provider Crexendo announced on Wednesday that its chief operating officer and president, Clint Sanderson, has resigned, and chief executive officer Steven G. Mihaylo will assume the role of COO and president.

Sanderson says he is leaving to pursue business opportunities, although he did not go into further detail.

Coxendo provides a range of web services for small and medium-sized enterprises including web hosting, web design, and e-commerce. It also provides SEO, link building, social media marketing, and VoIP services, according to its website.

“I have been with Crexendo for nine years, I have worked hard with Steve to transition the Company to a B2B model, and I am proud of the strides we have made in that regard,” Sanderson said in a statement. “I have always had the entrepreneurial bug and I am leaving to pursue opportunities that exist. Now that Crexendo has made the transition from a B2C business to a Cloud-based infrastructure B2B business, I feel that with the New Year starting this was the best time to make this move. I firmly believe that all of the elements are in place for Crexendo to execute its recurring revenue model and to attain its goals.”

Before being named president, Sanderson held sales manager and vice president of operations roles at Crexendo.

Mihaylo was appointed to CEO in 2008 after retiring from Inter-Tel Inc., which he founded in 1969. Inter-Tel offered business telephone systems, managed services and communications and productivity software. According to his bio on the Crexendo site, Mihaylo grew the business to nearly $500 million in annual sales before selling it to Mitel for $720 million in 2007.

“We thank Clint for his contributions to the business, particularly our shift to a B2B business model. We are starting to see traction in the telecom division and the web services division,” Mihaylo said in a statement. “I know we have great people here, and we will execute on the plans we have in place. I am excited about our future and working with this tremendous team. I am confident that with the resources we have in place we will operate seamlessly and effectively. The entire Crexendo team wishes Clint the best of luck.”
