(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Web hosting provider and data center operator CoreLink Data Centers (www.corelink.com) announced on Tuesday that it is sponsoring the invitation only CIOsynergy networking event taking place April 28 in Chicago, at the Millennium Knickerbocker Hotel, and featuring a discussion panel moderated by PBS host Charlie Rose.

The invitation only event will run from 1:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and, according to the announcement, is intended to provide IT industry professionals with insight into the successes and failures of a panel of its prominent panelists.

Probably coincidentally, 7:00 p.m. on April 28, in Chicago, is exactly the time date and city where the WHIR’s April networking event will be taking place at the bar Rockit. For more information on the WHIR’s Chicago networking event, visit the information page on our website.

“CIOsynergy events provide IT leaders with valuable information about how the most successful organizations use network technology to achieve a competitive market edge,” said Rick Crutchley, CoreLink vice president of global sales. “Our sponsorship of CIOsynergy Chicago reflects CoreLink’s continuing support of this vital series of events that provides attendees both with an up-close view of the IT operations of panelists’ companies, as well as the chance to build rapport with fellow IT professionals.”

More information on the CIOsynergy Chicago event is available from the organization’s website. The speakers include Howard Putnam, former CEO of Southwest Airlines and Braniff International Airways, Paul T. Cottey, CIO at Accretive Heath, Kevin M. Larson, CIO and vice president of AAR Corporation and Greg Goluska, CIO of DSC Logistics.

In addition to the panel discussion, the CIO event includes a Q&A session with panelists, as well as a dinner and cocktail reception to provide attendees with opportunities to network and share knowledge.

Though the press release describes the event as “invitation only,” there is a registration form on the website. It’s not entirely clear whether filling out the form will result in one of the aforementioned invitations.

Just last week, CoreLink reported that it was hosting a meeting of crisis managers at its Chicago area data center facility. The combination suggests that the company regards involvement in  events that provide IT industry executives with information to be a good means of accessing those potential new customers.
