(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Web hosting provider Contegix (www.contegix.com) announced on Monday that it has launched a new cloud computing platform called MiraCloud.
This move follows Contegix’s recent expansion of its cloud services unit.
According to the press release, MiraCloud is a tiered cloud hosting model that includes convenience class, business class and enterprise class levels. MiraCloud provides options ranging from self-managed cloud computing to a private enterprise cloud with the ability to choose elements from each tier to suit various needs.
Contegix says its new platform offers customers a customizable cloud platform. For example, companies can choose different MiraCloud tiers for various applications, multiple hypervisor support and mixed needs within the Contegix public cloud and a customer’s private cloud. Contegix supports each platform type at the level of service determined by the customer.
According to the press release, MiraCloud offers a simple web interface that includes budget management and overall spend. Customers are able to pay for compute capacity by the hour or monthly and choose on a per system basis with guaranteed CPU and RAM resources.
Contegix says all of its cloud services are housed in its data centers that meet SAS 70 Type II compliance as well as HIPAA and Safe Harbor.
The MiraCloud platform is available in three tiers and customers are able to mix-and-match tiers in order to create a customized infrastructure.
Contegix says its MiraCloud Convenience Class features a KVM hypervisor. Its business class tier features a XenServer Hypervisor and a 99.9 percent SLA. The MiraCloud Enterprise Class provides a VMware ESxi Hypervisor and a 99.99 percent SLA. Both the business and enterprise class levels offer optional managed service support.
According to the press release, Contegix first introduced Contegix Cloud Computing in 2009 as an enterprise VMware-based cloud computing platform. The company says its MiraCloud platform will diversify its offering and address customers multiple needs.
“We are committed to investing in the future of the cloud, and by offering greater flexibility, we are giving customers the opportunity to create a cloud solution that works best for them,” Matthew Porter, Contegix co-founder and CEO said in a statement. “Because we have been in the cloud space since its inception, at Contegix, we understand how these systems can be utilized and have built a platform based on the idea that our customers understand their needs better than anyone.”
Current customers of Contegix cloud have the option to migrate to MiraCloud at no extra cost, according to the press release.
