(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) –Web hosting provider Connectria Hosting announced on Wednesday that it has launched its Connectria Cloud Storage designed for companies of all sizes.
According to the press release, Connectria’s cloud storage is compatible with Amazon S3 by using an Amazon Compatible Application Programming Interface designed to work with any tool or software program that works with Amazon S3.
Connectria says that its cloud storage is automatically written on three separate disks within three separate servers within the cloud to protect data from hardware failures.
According to the company, the cloud storage solution is compatible with HIPPAA, SOX, PCI, SAS 70 and SSAE 16 compliance.
With a “unique architecture”, Connectria says it knows where its clients data is stored.
“We are delighted to announce the availability of Connectria Cloud Storage,” Rich Waidmann, Connectria president and CEO said in a statement. “It’s quick, easy and affordable, with costs that are a fraction of the price of SAN, NAS or data backup solutions. We believe Connectria Cloud Storage is an excellent complement to our current hosting services and a compelling alternative to Amazon S3.”
According to the press release, the cloud storage offering starts at $14.99 per month for 100GB of storage and data transfer. Connectria claims its pricing model doesn’t include complex transaction fees (PUT, COPY, GET, DELETE or LIST requests.)
In April, after an Amazon EC2 outage, Connectria launched a trade-up program for displeased Amazon cloud customers. As part of the deal, Connectria offered a “buy 1, get 2 months free” promotion for its cloud solution.
