(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) – Managed hosting provider Coeus Blue (www.coeusblue.com) announced last week that it has joined Amazon Web Services Solution Provider Program to provide cloud hosting solutions for e-commerce websites.

“This partnership is an extension of our core business,” Matthew Goward CEO of Coeus Blue said in a statement. “Hosting your e-commerce site in the cloud used to be just one option you explored, today it has to be the first choice. The flexibility of the cloud allows a substantial win over traditional hosting models and, it has changed the way enterprise hosting is done. With Amazon Web Services at the core of our business, this partnership will allow us to provide even more of the advantages of cloud hosting to our clients.”

Built on Amazon EC2, Coeus Blue focuses its services on e-commerce sites. In November 2010, Coeus Blue launched its infrastructure scaling solution for e-commerce sites of small and medium businesses. The company also provides consulting services and load testing.

According to Amazon’s website, the AWS Solution Providers Program is designed to help solution providers for systems integrators, software, and channel partners migrate customers to cloud computing. The partner program works like many other in the Web hosting industry as it is designed so participants can broaden their offerings, markets and customer base, however the members must be building services and solutions on Amazon’s cloud.

AWS offers partners sales, technical marketing and alliance support, according to the description on its website. These benefits include client referrals, technical training and AWS support for press releases.

Coeus Blue offers both managed hosting and consulting through the partner program. The company claims its Magento enterprise hosting environment has been designed to meet the demands of high traffic e-commerce sites and has been modified to suit the security and performance needs of those sites.

During the Amazon EC2 outage in April, Coeus Blue says its customers only experienced a total of 11 minutes of downtime, according to a blog post.
