(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Managed hosting provider Carpathia Hosting (www.carpathiahosting.com) announced on Wednesday it has partnered with content delivery network provider Highwinds Network Group (www.highwinds.com) to deliver Tier 1 content delivery network services for Carpathia’s managed, compliant and cloud customers.
By adding Highwinds’ CDN services to its range of managed services, Carpathia Hosting will offer additional content delivery solutions, including streaming live or on-demand video, as well as distribution of large files.
Highwinds’ CDN services will be particularly beneficial for customers using Carpathia’s InstantOn storage cloud service, as it will ensure the efficient delivery of large files in the cloud directly over the CDN.
“Carpathia has fully integrated Highwinds’ CDN into our managed, compliant and cloud services portfolio, providing customers with some unique ways to take advantage of pairing dynamic content delivery with dynamic computing environments,” says Jon Greaves, CTO of Carpathia Hosting. “Our federal customers can now also take advantage of the CDN for secure delivery of content meeting the needs of their agencies.”
Carpathia also announced a new Carpathia Hosting CDN Optimization Service, which is designed to provide optimal CDN performance and management for content providers, companies and federal agencies that deliver significant volumes of larger files.
The service includes a detailed assessment of the customer’s website and historic data of the website activity to determine the optimal CDN configuration, as well as recommendations to take advantage of CDN technology.
