(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Web hosting provider Canadian Web Hosting (www.canadianwebhosting.com) announced on Thursday that is has successfully completed the SAS 70 Type II and the CICA 5970 certifications.
This announcement comes two months after Canadian Web Hosting enrolled with the Green Business Bureau to become a green certified business.
The certifications are recognized in the industry as the benchmark for service organizations, according to the press release.
“By completing this audit, we want our customers to know that Canadian Web Hosting has the ability to keep their systems running and that we are doing everything possible to protect their sensitive data,” Tony Chu, Canadian Web Hosting CEO said in a statement. “By completing the CICA 5970 and SAS70 Type II audit, we are providing greater assurances and transparency into our business operations and delivering on our promise to offer the most secure and reliable web hosting platform in Canada.”
The company says these audit reports provide its customers with information to understand the controls and processes in place, as well as assist in assessments of business risk for their organizations.
The report covered operations and monitoring, strategic planning and organization, human resources, scale and performance, and ensuring overall security including systems, data and backups and facilities.
“These internationally recognized and respected auditing standards are critical for our customers’ peace of mind, and it sets a level benchmark for proactive and continuous improvement of our processes, procedures and controls,” Matt McKinney, director of business operations for Canadian Web Hosting stated.
