(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) – Web hosting provider Bytemark Hosting (www.bytemark.co.uk) announced on Monday that it will sponsor this year’s Scottish Ruby Conference (www.scottishrubyconference.com). The annual conference for Ruby programmers and developers will be held from April 7 to 9 in Edinburgh at the Royal College of Physicians.

According to the press release, the sold-out conference is being run by the same team who managed the event for the past three years.

Bytemark says the conference features a wide variety of notable speakers in the Ruby programming world including developers Chad Fowler and Keavy McMinn who will speak about the fundamental building blocks of Ruby on April 7 for Tutorial Day.

“Bytemark have built their business on Ruby since 2002 so we really should have sponsored a Ruby conference sooner,” Matthew Bloch, Bytemark managing director said in a statement. “Our new hosting platform is built on Ruby, and we’re glad that our favourite language is supported by a vibrant and clever community. As ever we’re very excited to see what new ideas will come of these three days in Edinburgh.”

Participants can alternatively attend The Ruby Festival on April 7. The festival is an “unconference” event and will provide a hacking space to encourage users to share knowledge and experience in the Ruby programming language, according to the statement.

The conference invites attendees to donate to the Children’s Hospice Association Scotland. In previous years, Scottish Ruby Conference has raised more than $25,000 for the organization.
