(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Web hosting provider BurstNET Technologies (www.burst.net) announced on Monday it has expanded into the European hosting marketplace by launching its wholly-owned subsidiary, BurstNET Limited (www.burstnet.eu).
To support its expansion into Europe, BurstNET has selected Manchester, UK for its European base of operations.
The headquarters will meet both international customer demand and globally redundant hosted infrastructure needs.
The company provides a range of services, including managed hosting, colocation, virtual server, email, backup/storage, domain registration, spam/virus protection, SSL certificates, software licensing, Internet access services, and networking/consulting.
The new BurstNET European network provides its customers with access to fully redundant multi-10Gbps connectivity between BurstNET’s US and EU/UK network, as well as major Internet hubs in Manchester, London, and Amsterdam, for transit and European peering exchange access.
Upon turn-up, BurstNET immediately has one of the largest Web hosting specific networks in Europe, with many providers still operating on 1Gbps connections, rather than 10Gbps.
BurstNET says it has seen significant growth in its US hosting business, with more than 10,000 dedicated and virtual private servers currently in service.
“The demand for our services to be expanded to other regions, particularly in Europe, has been heard loud and clear,” says BurstNET CEO Shawn M. Arcus. “We’ve had serious interest from our existing client base, which solidified that the time was right to move forward. We’ve had this effort in development for many months and are extremely pleased to be able to go live with our European service. We look forward to meeting the needs of our European clientele, and providing the unmatched service and support, at extremely low price points, that we have been known for in the US.”
