(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Utility storage technology provider 3PAR (www.3par.com) announced on Wednesday that UK managed hosting provider Attenda (www.attenda.net) has become the first European member of the 3PAR Cloud-Agile program to offer its customers cloud-based services, 3PAR Cloud-Agile: ASSURED and 3PAR Cloud-Agile.
Last month, New Jersey-based DataPipe announced it became the first member of the 3PAR Cloud-Agile program.
Attenda is also the first 3PAR Cloud-Agile partner to deliver these services as part of a sustainability initiative it calls CarbonNeutral hosting.
The web host attained a net zero CO2 emissions rating in January, receiving accreditation by carbon offset provider The CarbonNeutral Company.
The managed hsoting provider’s new CarbonNeutral hosting program, in combination with Cloud-Agile: ASSURED and Cloud-Agile: SECURED services, provides customers with secure virtual private array and disaster recovery services.
These offerings are built on a hyper-efficient, green utility storage infrastructure backed by the 3PAR InServ Storage Server platform.
Using green storage and server virtualization technologies from 3PAR, VMware, and Cisco, Attenda delivers its real-time infrastructure and cloud services platforms.
By offering 3PAR’s cloud-based services as part of a carbon neutral hosting program, Attenda has expanded its offerings while maintaining its environmental responsibility policies and helping customers achieve their green IT goals.
3PAR Cloud-Agile: ASSURED uses 3PAR Remote Copy, providing Attenda with cost-effective and flexible remote data replication, disaster recovery, and data backup to end users.
Meanwhile, 3PAR Cloud-Agile: SECURED is backed by the combination of 3PAR Utility Storage and 3PAR Virtual Domains to give Attenda the ability to deliver virtual private array services.
