(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Web host Atlantic.Net (www.atlantic.net) announced on Thursday it has launched a new scalable cloud computing platform Atlantic.Net Cloud Servers.

The company says its cloud platform is easy to set up, and includes a public cloud, a private cloud for individual companies, and hybrid solutions.

“With over 16 years of industry experience, we optimized our cloud computing platform to deliver the best experience with today’s hottest applications on the web,” said Marty Puranik, founder, president and CEO of Atlantic.Net.

Atlantic.Net claims its solution will eliminate the need for ongoing upgrade cycles and reduce enterprise capital expenditures, as its platform is scalable to demand. Its core infrastructure operates at 40GB a second.

“Our product development team worked tirelessly to deliver a unique, robust, one-of-a-kind solution tuned for web applications,” Josh Simon, Atlantic.Net’s director of data center services said in a statement. “We studied what was available and decided to make the leap to the next generation of computing technology. From the ground up, our cloud platform implements many innovative features not available in any other platform. We addressed storage, computing capacity, provisioning, and even billing in a whole new way. The resulting computing experience is totally different and more secure than anything that’s been available.”

Simon said the company hopes its platform will demystify cloud computing.

As a special offer, Atlantic.Net is giving free trials of its public cloud platform for a limited time.

On Tuesday, Web host Rackspace launched its managed cloud servers with “fanatical support”.
