(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Managed hosting provider Atlantic.Net (www.atlantic.net) announced on Thursday it has completed the Statement of Auditing Standard Number 70 audit for Service Organizations.
The audit demonstrates the reliability, security, availability, and processing integrity of managed server hosting, dedicated hosting, and colocation provided by Atlantic.Net through its data center operations.
The SAS 70 certification was developed by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants to audit and report on the effectiveness of operations and controls of a service provider.
Web hosting providers Colo5, Opus Interactive and Pacific Software Publishing also completed their SAS 70 Audits earlier this year.
Atlantic.Net says its data center control objectives were closely examined in the areas of organizational structure, administration, physical and environmental controls, and physical and logical security.
The audit enhances Atlantic.Net’s ability to support companies facing Sarbanes Oxely requirements when they outsource their data centers needs through server colocation, dedicated hosting, or managed server hosting.
“SAS 70 certification allows our clients to rest easy knowing that Atlantic.Net’s operational processes, system controls, and infrastructure meet stringent requirements to ensure the reliability, security, and service customers have come to expect from Atlantic.Net,” says Josh Simon, director of data center services at Atlantic.Net. “This certification provides clients of Atlantic.Net the ability to utilize our SAS 70 report as an alternative to conducting their own testing for Data Center compliance requirements.”
Atlantic.Net operates a colocation data center in Orlando, Florida, where it provides a range of managed servers, server colocation, dedicated servers, Internet connectivity, business continuity, and managed services such as data backup, security and private networks.
