(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Web hosting provider American Internet Services announced on Thursday that it has partnered with managed security firm Security On-Demand to add a set of managed security solutions to its set of enterprise managed services.

According to AIS, the product, which the company is calling e-ManagedSecurity, includes on-premise and cloud security services that can be custom-fit to the growth and compliance requirements of a given customer. It includes a “single pane of glass” user interface that provides the customer with access to controls, reports, alerts, events and compliance status in one spot.

AIS says Security On-Demand is “recognized as an innovator within the managed security industry,” and was the first company to develop a fully managed web application firewall, along with several other key innovations. Distributing its services though other service providers (such as web hosts) seems to be a big part of the agenda for Security On-Demand, which describes an established channel partner program on its website.

“While risk management is important, compliance is weighing heavily on the minds of many of our current and prospective clients,” says Tim Caulfield, chief executive officer at AIS, quoted in the press release. “Peter and his team at Security On-Demand are very familiar with compliance requirements and have put together a comprehensive security solution that fits well into our portfolio of enterprise managed services.”

AIS’s new e-ManagedSecurity offering, described in greater detail in a new section of the company’s website, includes firewall management for colocation, enterprise and branch office, network intrusion protection services, log management and vulnerability scans.

It also offers a set of compliance-focused managed services that includes, web application firewall management, file integrity management and firewall policy and compliance analysis. AIS says Security On-Demand’s managed security tools have a proven track record of HIPPA compliance, in particular.

Tiered and customized pricing for the service is based on specific customer requirements.
