(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Virtual private server hosting provider Cirrus Tech (www.cirrushosting.com) has added the Microsoft ASP.NET 2.0 and 3.5 framework support to all its Windows VPS hosting plans.
According to the Canadian web host’s Wednesday announcement, ASP.NET 2.0 is automatically installed when Cirrus Tech clients order a Windows VPS hosting plan, which they can optionally upgrade to version 3.5. In addition to ASP.NET, all Windows VPS hosting plans include support for Windows Server 2003, IIS 6, and dedicated IP addresses.
Combining the power of a VPS and the ease of working within a control panel, Windows VPS clients have the option to install web hosting control panel Parallels (www.parallels.com) Plesk Panel 9 to simplify their web hosting activities, such as setting up their domain accounts and email accounts.
Seasoned .NET developers can opt out of installing that control panel and set up their web services manually through terminal services, allowing for more custom configuration.
Cirrus Tech has been making improvements to its VPS offerings lately. Last week, for instance, Cirrus Tech updated its higher-end VPS hosting plans by assigning greater resources to its VPS plans, and hosting them on more powerful servers.
