February 27, 2008 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Virtualization software provider VMware (vmware.com) and HP (hp.com) announced on Tuesday that it will broadly integrate and release VMware’s hypervisor software, VMware ESX 3i, starting March 31, on 10 models of HP ProLiant servers. The joint offering enables customers to transition to virtualization, providing them with VMware virtualization capabilities and full support for HP System Insight Manager.
Customers can deploy VMware’s base hypervisor within minutes of starting a ProLiant server, providing greater speed and simplicity for customers new to virtualization. It also offers increased capacity expansion for customers who are already use VMware’s data center virtualization and management suite, VMware Infrastructure 3.
HP and VMware have also collaborated to make available software bundles that combine the VMware Infrastructure 3 software suite and other automation products, with HP Insight Control Environment. These bundles give customers a complete solution for seamless physical and virtual platform management.

VmWare announced earlier this week it revealed four new virtual machine management products that bring unprecedented automation of IT service delivery and business continuity to the data center.
