VitalStream Releases Flash Media Player

April 24, 2006 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Audio and video streaming provider VitalStream (vitalstream.com) announced on Monday that it is has released VitalStream Media Player for Flash, a dedicated application that simplifies the viewing of Flash video content.

In the past, developers had to create a Media Player within the Flash Development environment to view FLV content on their computers. VitalStream Media Player for Flash provides users with full support for all FLV files including Flash 6, 7 and 8 encoded Flash video, reducing the amount of time spent on developing Flash content.

Designed together with Adobe, VitalStream Service for Flash, says the company, delivers a higher capacity service than non-certified CDN Flash providers. Key features include standard media player controls such as play, pause, volume controls and a video scrub bar, at-a-glance data on file name, total running time, audio and video data rate and video frame size, zoom in and out functions for viewing video at 100 or 200 percent, and access to a time code display.

“VitalStream is a pioneer in the Flash video streaming market, and continues its leadership role by offering innovative products as solutions to existing industry needs,” says Philip N. Kaplan, president and COO at VitalStream. “Media Player for Flash is the newest addition to our suite of development tools created to simplify the workflow of delivering media online.”
