March 20, 2003 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Digital broadcasting solutions provider VitalStream Inc. (VitalStream.com) announced on Thursday that it has been accepted by Microsoft into the Windows Media 9 Series Certified Hosting Provider Program, having demonstrated the ability to deliver large-scale streaming solutions using the product’s advanced features.

As part of the certification process, says VitalStream, the company’s content delivery network passed a stringent set of tests from third-party testing company Streamcheck, which awarded VitalStream’s content delivery network an A+, the highest score available.

During the evaluations, VitalStream successfully demonstrated its expertise in delivering Internet solutions using the advanced features of Windows Media 9 Series, including support for live and on-demand streaming with Windows Media DRM, server-side playlists and advertising and bit rates up to 750Kbps or greater. VitalStream also exceeds the program’s minimum capacity requirement of 8Gbps aggregate throughput.
