(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Virtualization software provider Citrix Systems (www.citrix.com) announced on Wednesday it has named Sanjay Deshmukh the company’s area vice president for India Sub Continent.
In this role, Deshmukh will be responsible for the company’s entire operations including enterprise and field sales, services, technical pre-sales and the post sales functions.
He will be based in the Mumbai offices of Citrix, according to the press release.
Deshmukh joins the company from business management software firm SAP, where he served as vice president for the business user and platforms business.
He joined SAP as part of its acquisition of Business Objects, a company he founded, where he was country manager India/SAARC from 2001 to 2008.
At Business Objects, Deshmukh formed a team that succeeded in establishing the company as a dominant player in business intelligence application space.
Deshmukh has also served in positions at Informix, Tata Unisys and Binary Semantics.
“We are extremely pleased to have Sanjay join us in the leadership of our India sales operations in the Indian subcontinent,” says Rob Willis, vice president of Asia Pacific for Citrix Systems. “His sales and leadership skills combined with his expertise and experience in technology and his knowledge of the India enterprise market all ensure that Sanjay will be a great addition to the Citrix India team.”
