ViaWest to Expand Las Vegas Data Center

(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Managed hosting provider ViaWest (www.viawest.com) announced on Tuesday it has begun construction on its Las Vegas data center facility expansion.

Located in downtown Las Vegas, the enterprise-class data center is being expanded by over 25 percent.

The expansion will include new office space, customer facilities, and common areas.

The construction is scheduled to be completed in the fourth quarter.

“This expansion has been driven by continual requests for additional space in this facility,” says Tim Moore, ViaWest’s senior vice president of market development. “With a recent power augmentation here, ViaWest was in a position to respond those customer demands. With the company’s strength in the industry, and with the caliber of employees and staff we have here in this region, I am confident we will continue to drive growth in Las Vegas, quarter after quarter.”

In addition to Las Vegas, ViaWest’s national footprint also includes four enterprise-class data centers in Denver, six in the Dallas area, two in Salt Lake City, as well as one in Austin, Provo, and Portland.

According to the company’s website, each of its data centers offers the highest availability standards in the areas of power delivery and backup, cooling and environmental controls, fire and smoke systems detection systems, physical security, redundant Network, network operations center, cabling and grounding.

Headquartered in Denver, ViaWest provides a range of services including colocation, managed hosting solutions, and comprehensive services to mid-sized and enterprise level businesses.
