ViaWest Hosts Samsonite Site

August 27, 2007 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Colocation and managed hosting provider ViaWest (viawest.net) announced on Monday that travel lifestyle product provider Samsonite has moved seven of its 20 global Web sites to ViaWest’s colocation services.

Samsonite has also employed ViaWest’s hosting services to provide Samsonite new infrastructure to consolidate existing Web hosting, improve costs and operational efficiencies. The travel lifestyle company previously managed the seven Web sites inhouse, and is one of a growing number of organizations migrating to outsourcing these services.

“Both small and large enterprises are seeing the benefit in outsourcing their IT infrastructures services, not only in operational efficiency but in time and savings,” says Roy Dimoff, CEO and co-founder of ViaWest. “This is evident with ViaWest’s sales pipeline as well as the steady increase in demand for managed hosting and colocation throughout the industry.”

Over the years, Samsonite’s e-commerce operations has increased and now requires a robust data center and comprehensive data services to accomodate this growth and support its online commerce. ViaWest will provide managed hosting and colocation services for Samsonite Web sites as well as backup, database and security support.
