(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Data center provider ViaWest (www.viawest.com) announced on Tuesday that it has deployed Cyan’s (www.cyaninc.com) integrated data center interconnect solution to provide virtual adjacency of ViaWest’s new Synergy Park data center with its Dallas location.
ViaWest opened its Synergy Park data center in Richardson, Texas in July. The facility is the company’s 22nd data center for a total of 400,000 square feet.
According to the press release, Cyan’s DCI solution integrates Z-series packet-optical transport platforms with Cyan 360 software support systems, and Cyan PRO services. The solution enables new data center expansion sites to perform as if they were colocated with other key data centers, according to the press release.
ViaWest says the solution allows it to maintain its SLA while giving customers new opportunities to expand environments.
“We are committed to delivering our customers a unique combination of colocation, cloud, complex hosting and managed services backed by industry-leading SLAs,” Paul Gerrard, executive vice president of sales and marketing for ViaWest said in a statement. “Cyan’s integrated data center interconnect solution allows us to offer and support our services seamlessly and cost-effectively across our data centers in the Dallas market.”
According to the press release, Cyan provides packet-optical transport platforms and multi-layer software systems that allow operators to meet demands with service level aware networks.
“Cyan’s packet-optical transport and multi-layer software solutions deliver the scalability and operational flexibility that enable leading data center operators like ViaWest to deliver services ranging from collocation to hosting more effectively and economically,” Nick Thomas, Cyan’s vice president of data center sales said in a statement. “In addition to meeting data centers’ ever-increasing capacity needs while keeping network costs and complexity at a minimum, our carrier-grade Z-Series platforms and Cyan 360 software (CyPlan, CyMS, CyPortal) provide a crucial differentiator as SLAs for network availability and connectivity become more stringent.”
