October 14, 2003 -- (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) -- VIA NET.WORKS, Inc. (vianetworks.com), a provider of Internet access and Web hosting to small and medium-sized businesses, said on Monday that its Swiss Subsidiary acquired the customer accounts of FORUM fuer Telematik AG, a Web design and hosting company that services the hotel and restaurant market in Switzerland.

Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

The company said the acquisition of FORUM?s customer accounts extends the company?s reach into a key vertical market and opens the door to the hospitality market in Europe and the United States.

"This transaction continues our strategy of designing, marketing and delivering business communication solutions for selected vertical market segments," said Rhett Williams, CEO of VIA NET.WORKS. "It gives us a headstart in delivering our unique range of business communication solutions to the Swiss hospitality market. We intend not only to grow the existing customer base in this market in Switzerland, but to export this expertise to other markets."
