August 24, 2007 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Telecommunications provider Verizon Business (verizonbusiness.com) announced on Wednesday that it has signed a three-year contract to provide managed security services for Hutchison 3G Australia’s (three.com.au) wireless network.
Verizon Business security solutions powered by Cybertrust will provide an on-site security specialist, around-the-clock monitoring from the Verizon Business Asia Pacific security operations center in Canberra, Australia and full integration into the Verizon Business global managed network operations center. Verizon Business says it will also provide efficient and reliable management for 3′s firewall devices and recently deployed intrusion detection system.
“As customers such as Hutchison begin to take up managed security solutions more widely, they are proactively seeking out providers with global capabilities, best practice processes, best-of-breed technology and highly skilled security practitioners,” says Paul O’Rourke, regional VP of Verizon Business security solutions Asia Pacific. “Verizon Business Security Solutions is ahead of the pack in that it easily fulfills all those criteria.”
Verizon Business recently entered into an agreement to acquire privately held provider of IT security services provider Cybertrust.
