January 31, 2007 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — IT solutions provider Verizon Business (verizonbusiness.com) announced on Tuesday that global biotechnology company Chr. Hansen (chr-hansen.com) will link its global sites using a Verizon Business managed Private IP network.
The MPLS-based PIP network, supplied and managed by Verizon Business, will enable Chr. Hansen to prioritize traffic to support the secure and resilient delivery of applications across 47 international sites on five continents, linking back to Chr. Hansen’s two key administrative centers in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and Hørsholm, Denmark.
In order to enhance this connectivity and worker collaboration between its global offices, Chr. Hansen decided to centralize its operations onto one single IP network.
“As a multinational corporation, Chr. Hansen can take advantage of our global IP backbone for improved competitiveness now, as well as having access to improved scalability and flexibility to help support its future growth,” says Frank Enevoldsen, regional spokesperson for Verizon Business in Denmark. “We expect that Chr. Hansen’s employees will experience a significant improvement in network reliability and availability, which will help them to service the companys customers more effectively.”
Verizon Business also recently announced it has launched a guide outlining the top 10 tips for successful migration to IP telephony.
