VeriSign said that it expects to add 18 employees as a result of the transaction. A portion of the facilities occupied by those employees will be leased, the company said.

The sale is expected to close in the second quarter of 2004.

Eurotrust exited the Web hosting space last October with the sale of its hosting subsidiary EuroTrust Secure Hosting A/S to Mondo (mondo.dk), a Danish IT firm.
