Verio Welcomes Feedback with Summit

Verio Welcomes Feedback with SummitBy Justin Lee, theWHIR.com

August 27, 2007 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Drawing on the success of its partner program, managed hosting provider Verio (verio.com) will host its first viaVerio Partner Summit (viaverio.com) next month. The conference, which will take place at The Venetian Resort and Casino in Las Vegas Nevada on September 20 to 21, will follow the theme “Welcome to the Services Evolution.”

Over the course of the two days, Verio will look at how solution provider partners can use online business enablement services for their customers, as well as for their own businesses.

At the event, which immediately follows Tier1Research’s 2007 Hosting Transformation Summit, says Verio, attendees will be exposed to some of the top practitioners and innovative thinkers in the industry. Verio will also deliver exclusive previews of major product developments and initiatives.

The conference is intended to continue a dialogue between Verio and its partners, whose feedback will contribute to the development of Verio products and services. Jim Ciampaglio, senior director of viaVerio Partner Program at Verio, says the conference agenda is led as much by Verio’s solution providers as Verio itself.

“It’s another opportunity for us to hear directly from our partners,” says Ciampaglio. “Their needs, what their business models are, how they’re being successful using Verio solutions and other solutions. [We get to] better understand the dynamics of the marketplace and to share Verio’s message and products and development ideas for the coming year.”

The viaVerio Partner Summit will offer tracks relating to the latest online business trends from industry leaders. The event will also feature viaVerio partners who will discuss and share their individual paths to success.

With 16 breakout sessions across four different tracks, Verio will provide attendees with practical information they can use to develop and drive company roadmaps.

The tracks, entitled “real life,” “expert advice,” “solution” and “value add,” offer topics including “What keeps you up at night managing your small business?” “Marketing Optimization for your Business,” “Online Marketing,” “Expanding your Business with Business Services,” “The Future of Web Servers for Windows” and “SMB Focused Go To Market Strategies.”

The event will also feature a series of panel discussions, along with white-boarding sessions where attendees can lead and participate in discussions with their peers. Verio expects sessions like these to provide real-time feedback it can draw from.

“[We want] to look at the interactions between the resellers, and really allow them to work with each other and have time to see what synergies they have,” says Ciampaglio. “It’s a chance to broaden the ecosystem amongst the resellers and give them a chance to see where other people selling Verio solutions have success in the market.”

Event keynote speakers will include Jeff Kaplan, founder and managing director of strategic consulting firm THINKstrategies, who will discuss with attendees the progression of their businesses.

Tier1 Research analyst Philbert Shih will introduce the topic of the evolution of the hosting industry to a business solutions model. Verio executives, including Camplaglio, as well as president and CEO Kiyoshi Maeda, COO Dennis Boyle and VP of products Toshiyuki Yamasaki, will also contribute presentations.

Verio isn’t certain at the moment whether the viaVerio Partner Summit will become an annual event, or might take the form of several smaller regional events over the course of the year. The company intends to base that decision, in part, on the success of the inaugural event.

“As long as we can continue to stay in touch with our partners and what Verio is producing from a business and products perspective meets the needs of the market,” says Ciampaglio.
