Verio Reaffirms Reseller Focus

September 2, 2005 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — For several years, managed hosting solutions provider Verio (verio.com) has placed a particular emphasis on taking the suggestions of its resellers in developing the best possible solutions to support its partner program.

With some 4,000 resellers around the world, including the United States, Asia, Europe and South America, the NTT Communications subsidiary strives to meet the needs of this existing base of resellers by offering a diverse line of product solution packages.

Its newest offering is an entry-level plan for its Virtual Private Server version 2 hosting solution. The plan enables viaVerio reseller partners to pinpoint key segments of the SME market, providing innovative technology and high performance in a managed VPS hosting solution.

The VPS Basic Plan compliments Verio’s other VPS v2 offerings, meeting the needs of resellers that require a more basic plan and features.

Verio’s VPS v2 Basic plan offers a significant upgrade over its predecessor, with increased disk space, now 1GB, free setup throughout September, free data transfer, full root access, and unlimited mailboxes and virtual hosts.

“We found that through offering [VPS v2] that once a customer [implements] this type of software on top of the VPS server, we see more than a 98 percent stick rate,” says Jim Ciampaglio, director of SMB reseller sales for the viaVerio program. “So that shows we’re providing a total solution for the customer, not just a server.”

The VPS v2 Basic Plan is a strong addition to Verio’s reseller program, dubbed the viaVerio Partner Program, which outfits small to medium business resellers and larger channel partners with high-value hosting services on a dedicated, shared, virtual private server or managed private server platform.

And viaVerio resellers can take advantage of volume discounts, private label opportunities, and full technical, sales and marketing support. For instance, Verio offers numerous online training sessions on its products and services, including VPS server and shared hosting, as well general pointers on how to maintain business growth.

The company continues to plan its future strategy for meeting the needs of its resellers. In the coming months, Verio will release billing software that enables businesses to easily manage the complete billing process.

“Business owners spend a lot of time in their business and not on their business. So by having a billing software solution, the businesses can focus on the growth and acquisition of their customers and not have to spend so much time on the day to day management and a lot of the headaches that so many resellers have today,” says Ciampaglio.

Although it continues to offer resellers a diverse line of products like the upcoming billing software, Ciampaglio says Verio’s exceptional technical support, in the end, is what helps differentiate its reseller program from others.

“The technical support that we offer by far separate us from just the common service provider out there,” he says. “They can call and get a live human who’s going to work with their business to understand what the issues are and resolve them in a quick matter.”
