(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) –Web hosting provider Verio (www.verio.com) announced on Thursday it has launched Websites.com (www.websites.com), an online community designed to help small businesses expand their online presence.

The move follows Verizon’s recent announcement that it redesigned its own web portal for small businesses, Verizon Small Business Center, to include new online, advanced Web-based business software applications, and interactive professional networking.

According to the press release, Websites.com is “devoted to providing resources and sharing best practices for website planning, building, hosting and marketing specifically designed for the SMB.”

Websites.com provides SMBs with resources including Tips on Building Your Website, Tips on Marketing Your Website, Tips on Hosting Your Website, and theSMB Blog.

“The Internet is a valuable tool for many SMBs but there is a lot of information out there for them to review,” says Kazutaka Kobayashi, director of global strategy and marketing for Verio. “Websites.com has been designed as a resource exclusively for SMBs to help them increase efficiencies and utilize technology to extend their global reach and strengthen their online presence.”

Over the next few months, Websites.com will be launching additional resources for SMBs including promotional offers, a Find a Vendor directory and an Ask the Expert Forum to address SMB specific inquiries.
