Verio Launches Data Protection Tool
June 29, 2006 — (WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Web hosting provider Verio (verio.com), in partnership with information protection and storage services provider Iron Mountain (ironmountain.com), announced on Thursday it has introduced Verio PC Data Backup service for small businesses. The service protects critical data and work documents stored on personal computers connected to a hosted server.
The new solution automatically backs up and restores business files and data in mirrored offsite secure data center facilities, improving data availability while reducing recovery costs. Verio’s PC Data Backup also features government-level encryption during transmission and storage, rapid recovery and 99.99 percent uptime ensuring user access to data 24 hours a day.
“Anyone who’s experienced a data loss on their PC knows how devastating it can be,” says Kiyoshi Maeda, president and acting CEO for Verio. “This is a big problem, and Verio offers a simple and effective solution to prevent this kind of loss. PC Data Backup is the answer to ensuring company data is easily and readily available, secured and stored for retrieval.”
Verio’s PC Data Backup solution is available immediately to customers worldwide, starting at $14.95 for 2 GB of backup per month, with plans ranging up to 30 GB.
